ENGAGEMENT LETTER

Terms of engaging BossTax to prepare your taxes
Dear Client:
Thank you for selecting mLogg Inc. and the BossTax App to assist with your tax returns. This letter confirms the terms of your engagement of us and the nature and extent of services we will provide.
If you purchased the comprehensive tax filing and additional state/local returns, we will prepare your 2024 federal and all state or local income tax returns you purchased using information you provide to us. We will sign your return as the paid tax preparer, and in the unlikely event you are audited by the IRS, we will represent you in the audit within the scope of the return. If you need additional representation on additional tax matters, for example examination of other years, you may select to engage us for fees to be discussed at that time.
If you purchased the federal self-file, we will assist with your return but will not sign the return as your paid preparer. We will assist with answering any tax questions you may have as our team has availability, and we will provide guidance where possible to help complete your return, but again we will not sign the return as your paid preparer.
In all cases, you are responsible ultimately for the accuracy of the information you provide. Additionally in the case of a married filing jointly return, you are responsible for the information and liabilities of your spouse, unless you later apply for and are granted innocent spouse relief. We may ask for clarification of some items of your information as provided, but we will not audit or otherwise verify the data you submit. We rely on the information you give us as you represent it. Our work does not include any procedures to investigate or uncover any irregularities. It is your responsibility to provide information required for preparation of complete and accurate returns. You should keep all documents, canceled checks, statements, and other data that support your income and deductions. You may keep those documents in our app or export the documents if you purchased the archiving or exporting services, or you may keep your personal and paper files as you wish. You may need this backup information in case your tax return is examined by the federal, state, or local tax authorities.
Before you sign your tax return, you should carefully review all of the information to make sure it accurately reflects all the information you provided.
We use our judgment in resolving questions where the tax law is unclear, or where there may be conflicts in the interpretations of the tax law. To avoid penalties, we will apply the “more likely than not” reliance standard to resolve such tax issues. You agree to honor our decisions regarding the need to make protective disclosures in your returns. Penalties may be imposed on you by the IRS for failing to report certain “reportable transactions,” meaning tax arrangements the IRS has identified as potentially abusive. If you participate in any such abusive tax arrangements we will insist that such transactions be properly disclosed. The law may also impose penalties if you understate your tax liability, for example by claiming improper deductions or understating your income. If you are concerned about such penalties, please contact us.
We will retain copies of the records you supplied to us along with our work papers for your engagement for a period of seven years. However, you should also keep records of the information you provided and copies of your returns as submitted.
To confirm that this letter correctly summarizes your understanding of the arrangements for this work, please sign this letter in the space indicated below and submit it back to us in electronic format. If you are filing with the status of married filing jointly, you and your spouse must each sign an engagement letter and they will be treated as a joint signature on this joint engagement.
We appreciate your business and look forward to working with you! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
mLogg Inc., d/b/a BossTax
